Your Easy Guide For Cleaning Your Invisalign Waterloo

invisalign - Campus dentist

Invisalign in Waterloo is one of the effective ways to straighten your teeth without the traditional wires.  They are worth the investment. That is why it is vital to clean them. This blog post will help you keep your trays clean all the time.

Keeping your Invisalign clean

It is impressive how Invisalign works because it can gradually move your teeth in their proper position. You will receive Invisalign aftercare instructions from your dentist as soon as they have finished placing your new dental appliance so that they last and prevent discolouring. Here are the following tips you can consider :

1. Clean your tray after removing them.

What is good with clear aligners is that you can remove them when you eat or drink. It is a good practice to rinse them first before putting them back into your mouth. Doing so will prevent saliva and plaque from accumulating.

2. Rinse them with vinegar.

Using white vinegar for rinsing can help remove any food debris and smell. White vinegar is an excellent choice for cleaning since it cannot stain your aligners. To make a rinsing solution, you can do the following :

  • Mix one part of vinegar and three parts of water.
  • Soak your trays in the solution for fifteen minutes.
  • Using a toothbrush, you can brush it after 15 minutes.

3. Use a soft-bristled toothbrush.

When you brush your clear braces, make sure to use a toothbrush different from what you use when you brush your teeth.  Brush them gently. This will prevent damaging the clear trays.

4. Make sure you don’t leave them wide open.

Exposing your Invisalign to open-air will allow bacteria to form on them. In addition, there will be a high chance that you will lose them. Store them in a case, so they are protected. However, if you have accidentally left them out in the open, you should rinse them before putting them back into your teeth.

Create a proper cleaning routine

To make sure that you’ll maximize the benefits of your aligners, you have to establish a cleaning routine both in the morning and at night. Knowing how to clean your Invisalign will extend their life span.  If you are considering getting one, schedule an appointment with your dentist in Waterloo for consultation.
